I am a Lifestyle Photographer with a relaxed, playful style. My sessions are all about warm, fun, relaxed, genuine moments of emotion and connection. There will be very little posing, but I will guide you so that you don’t feel awkward.
What should I wear?
Ahhhh, this has to be one of the most frequent questions that I receive. The main thing is that you feel comfortable and unrestricted so you can move freely during your session. Once you book your session, you will get access to my Styling Guide! This really makes planning what everyone will wear super easy!
When & where will my session be held?
Newborn sessions are always held in your home. Family and maternity sessions can also be in the comfort of your home or I can work with you to select the perfect outdoor location. I will email you with some pointers on how to prepare your home prior to in-home sessions.
In-home sessions are typically scheduled for when the natural light is best in your home (typically mid-morning).
All outdoor sessions are shot during Golden Hour - which is the hour after sunrise or the hour before sunset. This is the BEST lighting and compliments just about everyone in its path. Timing changes depending on the time of year.
How should we prepare for our session?
Once your session is booked, I will send you a guide on how to prepare for your session.
What if my kids won't cooperate - listen, sit still, pay attention, smile...
I have kids of my own - I KNOW exactly what it's like! If you have energetic kids who like to move and run and play, we'll do that. If they're shy and need some help to come out of their shell we can gently ease into the session. I don’t expect children to act like miniature adults - they aren’t. This session is for everyone to be themselves.
The most important tip is for the parents to be relaxed and calm. Young children and babies can sense a stressful atmosphere! Take a deep breath, all will be ok. Even in the worst case scenario, it's typically possible to capture more "good' moments than parents ever think possible! Embrace the moment - snot noses, silly faces, fit throwing and all!
What happens if it rains on the day of our session?
In the event of rain or unsafe outdoor conditions, we will reschedule and a new date/time will be mutually agreed upon.
What happens if one of us is sick?
Please remember that in the time of COVID (but not just COVID, but the flu, viruses, colds, etc.), I am still very cautious, for my own family and for yours, and my other clients. Always reach out and let me know if you have any concerns about symptoms that you/any session participant may have (even if you are not concerned about COVID). I am flexible with my scheduling to allow for rescheduling for wellness concerns.
When and how will I receive my digital files?
Your images will be uploaded to a private online preview gallery within 6 weeks of your session. If you need your images back faster than 6 weeks, you can add a $100 rush fee. This will allow you to have your session back in 7 business days. All images are delivered as JPEG files.
How do you choose the images for my gallery and can I ask for more to be added?
I look at every image I capture at your session and select the best images. I am looking for images that represent both my style as an artist and your wonderful, unique family. I will eliminate any duplicative and unflattering images. You can rest assured that I will not hold back anything that you might love and...if you do love your images so much and want more you can absolutely purchase more for $25/image.
Can I have the RAW files to edit myself?
Respectfully, no. When you invest in photography you’re not just paying for a few quick pics; you are trusting my creative vision and technical expertise. Please make sure you've viewed my portfolio so that you're familiar with my creative shooting and editing style, after all this is a big part of what you're paying for!
Can I print my images?
Absolutely! I’d love for you to print your images, hang them all over your home, and share with loved ones! You will receive a print release so you may print at any lab of your choice.
What does my investment cover?
I provide a generous number of images in your gallery. Your session fee secures your session and pays for the digital images, on-location experience, and my talent, time, and training.
Travel fees start at 65.5 cents/mile for locations greater than 30 miles outside of 23117.

Is there a retainer/deposit fee to book?
Yes, all sessions require a 25% nonrefundable retainer. The remaining balance is due 7 day before the session.
